Learning with iPads | Aprendizaje con iPadsIn 2014, Annunciation was gifted with a generous donation of iPads from the JDO Foundation, and became the second fully 1:1 school Catholic elementary school in Denver. Each student from Kindergarten to Eighth grade has their own iPad to use during school to enhance their learning. The elementary students use their iPads as an additional tool in all of their subjects. The students practice their math fluency, hone their reading comprehension, and create projects using the iPad. In the Middle School, in addition to math and reading fluency, the students are required to use their iPads for all note taking, researching, writing, and documenting. The iPads are also great for creating interactive projects to help future students learn content material. Check out some of the projects our students have created by clicking here!
Technology is a fundamental and a continually growing part of our students' lives. The iPad program does not only serve as a tool for learning, but as a way for our students to have a stronger understanding of media literacy. Students develop the ability to access, analyze, and create media with the iPad. Students develop the ability to distinguish fact from opinion when researching, and from other complex messages that are thrown their way. Our students learn different ways to protect themselves when using the internet, and work toward responsible digital citizenship. A Technology-Integrated School | Escuela de Tecnología IntegradaIn addition to iPads for every student, we also have a fully-outfitted technology lab, a mobile set of chrome books for use in the middle school, and Smartboard Interactive Whiteboards in every classroom.
