Family Support Programs | Programas de Apoyo Para Familias

Annunciation Catholic School believes in offering support not only for children in the classroom, but for their families as well. We are truly a school for the whole family. We offer a plethora of services aimed at building and supporting families, and some are described below.
Parenting Workshops, Parent Discussion Groups, & Nutrition Classes - Throughout the year, Annunciation offers a variety of groups and workshops to assist parents in the important role of raising their child(ren). From academic support to conflict-management to nutrition classes, we hope to offer something for everyone. All classes are available in English & Spanish.

Food Assistance - Families may sign up to receive a bag of grocery items each week as part of our “Totes for Hope” program that is sponsored by the Food Bank of the Rockies. Every family who so desires also receives a fully stocked "Thanksgiving Food Basket" each year before Thanksgiving. Additionally, all students receive a free school breakfast & lunch every day - learn more about our School Meal & Wellness programs here.

Before & After School Care - Students may be enrolled in our “Just Kids” program that offers before school care starting at 6:30am as well as after school programming (including homework support) until 5:30pm each evening. This is available to all families for a small fee. Click Here to learn more about the Just Kids program.

Counseling for Students - We have a credentialed and licensed school counselor on site three days each week who is available to do consistent counseling with students at no added cost to families.

Special Education Services - For families with students who have special needs, we offer learning interventions at school and support for students out of school. We have a certified Learning Specialist available three days a week to work with students with learning challenges, as well as our middle school “Learning Strategies Program” for students with diagnosed challenges. This is a program that equips students with the necessary coaching and support as well as the academic and cognitive skills they need to be successful in a traditional classroom with their classmates.

Sports Sponsorships - We recognize that sports fees can get expensive. We try hard to keep these costs very low, but we also offer “scholarship” or “sponsorships” where donors sponsor a student for an entire athletic season, covering their costs.

Uniform & Clothing Assistance - We recognize that uniforms can be expensive, so for students and families who need help getting new uniforms as their children grow, we have uniform clothes available at little to no cost. We also assist with other clothing needs families may have, like winter coats and shoes.

Private High School Placement Assistance - When students are ready to graduate from 8th grade, we offer evening help sessions and in-school classes to help students and parents navigate the Private/Catholic high school application process. Sessions are available in English & Spanish.

Christmas Assistance - Each Christmas, we have the “Santa Shop” for students - it is a store set up in school where children can buy gifts for their family members for very little cost. We also help many school families each Christmas get “adopted,” which sponsors parents in financial hardship to help them provide gifts for their children. Each year, the Notre Dame Club of Denver also adopts every student in Pre-School - 2nd grade, coming before Christmas to deliver gifts to all of the students.

Tuition Assistance - Tuition is entirely based on family income, so assistance is readily available for families who need it.
